Woodland Planning Creation Scheme in Ennerdale, West Cumbria

Eco Prospects has recently been working with Mitchell’s Land Agency in Ennerdale, West Cumbria alongside the Forestry Commission on their flagship tree planting scheme the “Woodland Planning Creation Scheme”.

The scheme has been established by the Forestry Commission to provide grants to farmers and landowners to encourage them to develop plans for new woodland creation. This is in order to increase wildlife diversity, carbon capture, as well as improve woodland design and increase coverage.

By planting trees, farmers and landowners can improve their land, generate income and play their part in helping the environment while being rewarded in the process. Part of the scheme includes covering the tree planting costs, as well as ongoing financial support for the maintenance of young trees for up to 10 years. In addition, there is support for the costs of installing the infrastructure needed to manage your woodland.

We started working on this project in August and ongoing updates about how the work is progressing will follow.

If you would like to find out more, Eco Prospects are fully informed about the “Woodland Planning Creation Scheme” including how it works, what’s required, how you apply, and how to get involved. We can help and advise you on all of these points.
