Environmental Solutions

As stewards of the land, farmers have a close connection with it.  It is a farmer’s responsibility to manage it and respect it.  As part of this, agriculture sits in a unique place with the sequestration of carbon, and UK farmers holding the key to meeting the UK net zero target.

Countryside stewardship and its future replacement the new Environmental Land Management Scheme are a key aspect of this.  Countryside Stewardship provides financial incentives for farmers and land managers etc in order to ensure they look after and improve the environment.

For farmers it is all about improving their local environment which might include restoring wildlife habitats to managing flood risk and you can apply for funding to do this.  There are three main elements to this – Higher Tier, Mid-Tier and Capital Grants.

Eco Prospects have a comprehensive understanding of this scheme and can offer support and advice in your farm’s application.  (By taking steps to apply for the scheme and get an agreement in place now, farmers will be best placed to benefit from the new agricultural policy once it is fully rolled out in 2024).

When compiling a new scheme, we will provide:

  • Farm infrastructure audits
  • Mid-tier applications (including capital grants and stewardship and biodiversity options)
  • Experience and advice in slurry handling and storage options
  • Viability assessment and discussion of suitable options
  • Management of application and required supporting evidence for the particular scheme or grant
  • Application and submission to the appropriate grant or body

In short, Eco Prospects will help and guide you through the application process from beginning to end, giving you all the advice and support you need, and ensuring that you have all the evidence and information required to submit a strong application.

Worked with Ben finding land for Biosolids in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire. Ben’s ability to cultivate effective relationships with farmers and other stakeholders enabled him to deliver in a saturated and restricted market, that was being driven into negative value by the competition.

Ben came to the farm with a great knowledge of agriculture and was able to understand not only my business but what was practical and achievable. Ben’s work was of a very high quality and depth and he was able to aid me in pointing out my weaknesses and my needs in driving my business forwards.
